A Trip to Siming Mountain (Part 2)

(Sorry, sent these out of order, please read Part 2 before Part 3!)

A former classmate of Mr. Tao, and his wife, own and operate the Happy Farmhouse.



After getting us situated in our rooms, the woman inquired what we'd like for dinner. We were offered snake, frog, or chicken. In less than a nano second we all agreed that chicken would be great! Maybe I could have tried the frog if it didn't look like a frog. Now that I think about it... those pieces of chicken in spicy sauce had a peculiar flavor.

You probably wonder what else we had for dinner. There was a plate of boiled peanuts, a plate of Chinese pea pods... remove pods before eating peas, some excellent green beans in a spicy garlic sauce, a plate of sautéed eggplant slices and another plate of what I know was a chicken breast, skin on and bone in. The white rice is a welcome sight with every meal!!!

Tonight we are going to try and go to sleep early. Maybe we can watch a bit of the Olympics if the reception works... we've been told breakfast will be served around 7:00, and believe me, I can't wait!

OOPs.. might not be going to sleep as some firecrackers have just started to explode outside our window. Maybe this is part of a special welcome package!
